Was Balthazar an asshole? Yes. Did he enjoy watching people suffer a little too much sometimes? Yes. This was a new playing field, though, and Balthazar felt the poor man deserved some slack. This wasn't one of his brothers or sisters from home; to Balthazar, this man was some lost angel who had wound up on the wrong cloud.
