Being hunted by animals was actually new to Jonas. Jaffa, Replicators and other aliens yes but not actual wild animals. So he admit-tingly wasn't quite sure what to do, nor was he sure what his role models in these types of situations (Colonel O'Neill and Teal'C) would do.

Figuring it would be easier with less weight, Jonas dropped his pack to the ground and aimed with his stun rifle as he joined others in scanning the landscape for the new threat.
