Balthazar really tried not to answer with a smartass retort, the words on the tip of his tongue naturally forming out of stubborn habits. He managed to succeed in not being an ass, but he mostly attributed this miracle to his tired mood. "Yes, I realize that now," was what he got out. "Hindsight is 20/20, as they say, but unfortunately this body was the only thing I could find in a hurry." He wasn't sure what Aziraphales' angels were like, but they had to deal with bloodlines and such. A hassle, at the very least. The poor bastard he had burned out of the body hadn't been devout; just begging the only God he knew for a way out.
