"Save some of the bubble-bath for me." The archangel, having rinsed his mouth, was taking stock as best as he could in the sand and in the pitch-dark, the sandstorm completely blocking any light from overhead. It howled outside, loud and obliging them to speak with raised voices.
His body ached. And his chest and side outright hurt with every fast, ragged breath he took. He hadn't even been running that long; dear Dad, humans were so damned weak. Gabriel paused in the process of struggling out of his own jacket, not even bothering to try and rise yet.
"Something like that," he said with a winsome smile she probably couldn't see anyway. "Saw a lot of things from the sky, anyways."
