The sudden light in Gabriel's eyes made the archangel hiss an Enochian curse; he shaded his face, blinking rapidly to get rid of the tears it had induced. After the darkness, the illumination was almost too much, especially straight at him.

"That should be registered has a lethal weapon in your hands," Gabriel grumbled, fingering the edges of the bandage before a trail of sand sifted down from above and he reluctantly decided he ought to move. With a sigh he heaved himself up, an action which was far more difficult than it should ever had been, and plodded toward the wall, where there was less sand and the stone was cool.

"Whoever said it was the City I was worried about?" he asked after he'd sat, glancing over in semi-amusement.

She was gleaming. It wasn't much, just a flicker really, but in the torchlight it looked, for a moment, as if she was wearing something metal. Then Gabriel blinked and the mirage faded away. He frowned a little, then turned his attention back to his bandage. "It wouldn't be the least bit of fun if I went around telling everyone everything about myself, would it?"
