Time Lord memory of death tended to vary, and since the Doctor hadn't actually died yet... Not that that was an experience he looked forward to, or he would have regenerated long before.

The latter comment had him ever more curious. There were other archangels floating around, were there? And if Gabriel was the first to die, had they died after, or had they been brought here without dying?

But it was the part about 'home' that had him most curious. "How do you mean?"
