Today is the first day of the rest of your lives [ opening post ]
WHO: EVERYONE. NPCs will be around to actively engage if you so desire.
WHAT: Sleepers wake and begin to figure out just what, exactly, they are supposed to do with themselves. tl;dr: REACTION POST for new characters to get out and mingle.
WHERE: Everywhere. Mostly the living quarters, but really: anywhere you want.
WHEN: The first week, April 1st through April 7th.
WARNINGS: Travis Touchdown (Ryan LeCourt) has quite a mouth on him.
NOTES: This is a serious game, guys. WE’RE SUPER SRS HERE.This may be a lie.
Shimmering blue blanketed the underground city as the light reflected off the sapphires in the ceiling. It cast its eerie glow, almost mimicking the effect of light on water without the sort of freeing peace one might feel with the soft ocean waves. Figuring out how deep down the city was located was near impossible when the air was obviously heated to something approaching comfortable, and nothing seemed to echo too far past the quiet hum of the city.
Workers made their way down the street, every one with a Sleeper in tow. Something that would have been unheard of only a few days ago, now more likely than one would think. They intended to start slow, but considering how many others were still in cryo, this was a laidback pace.

It honestly didn't occur to him that Sable might be able to perceive Liam right now, so he took the time to give the man a once over. The blond turned to Ken with a grin from his place at one of the far tables and quipped, "I think the proper response in a situation like this is 'What can I do you for?'"

He chuckled at the second's correction, and then easily answered them both with, "Just looking." At least he’d had enough practice associating with humans that he didn’t stick out like a sore thumb in his attempts to orient himself. Of course, no amount of orienting himself would likely help him figure out exactly how to deal, who to claim that he was, what to say about the situation -- if anything at all. How valid were the threats and warnings? Sable had never had to be careful until now.
"I hope I’m not in the way," he added, "You do seem to be in the middle of something."

Looking over to his companion, he gives him a soft kick in the leg. "You could have answered him as well, you know."

Then he cut off, brow furrowing momentarily. It had been four days—ninety-six whole hours—that he'd been part of the living world again. Almost all of that had been purely in the presence of Ken, someone who always saw him regardless of current states of being. The idea that everyone else had the same privilege whether or not Liam wanted them to wasn't something he had really given much thought yet. It was... worrying. Like he had been caught out without his clothes and no one would be kind enough to return them.
Sticking his tongue in his cheek (and reminding himself once again to keep with the steady and even breaths), Liam turned to Sable with a half-smile. "Sorry 'bout that. We're just about as new to this as I imagine you are. Find anything interesting yet?"
no subject
"As for anything interesting, no. Not yet." He shrugged a shoulder. "Really, everything stands out as something unusual, but nothing stands out more than anything else." Nothing physical, anyway.
He began to slowly walk around the bar, looking it over for himself. It really wasn't too bad of a place, all things considered. Not really. "How about you? Anything interesting?"
no subject
"We haven't really had the time to look around much. There are some...differences between what we knew to be fact in our dreams and what we've been told as truth here, so we've had to deal with that first."
no subject
He watched Sable out of lack of anything else to do (continuing to snoop around the bar was no longer an option, not when another pair of eyes could see Liam's every move) and found himself leaning forward on the bar in a casual position. "All we've really seen so far is that depot and some of the other standard buildings around here. I think we saw the precinct for the Cave's finest, isn't that right?" asked Liam, tilting his head in Ken's direction.
no subject
"Oh? Well, you may have seen more than I have." He smiled a bit, shaking his head at himself. "I admit I've been taking my time about getting to know this place."
